Do I need an insurance to register my car?
|

yes, since motor insurance is compulsary by law. The minimium is third party coverage.

Do I get a refund if I cancel my motor insurance?
|
|
Yes, you will get a refund if you cancel your policy provided that there have been no “non-recoverable” claims made against your policy within the policy period.
In order for DIS to cancel your motor insurance, please provide a copy of the transfer certificate issued by the traffic dept. For further assistance, please contact us.

What is a Transferrable Driving License?
|

This is a foreign driving license that can be converted into UAE driving license without the holder undergoing any driving test.
In order for your to be eligible to transfer your driving license to a UAE driving license, you must hold a valid passport and driving license from one of the countries listed below. You must also have current resident status in UAE.
The countries are Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, United States (Please check with the local licensing authority at each emirate for an updated list)

Can the insurance and registration be in two different names?

The traffic department will only register a vehicle in the name stated on the insurance certificate. The Policyholder must have a financial interest in the vehicle.

How do I renew my vehicle insurance policy?

You need to contact one of our branches for the renewal. We will send your renewal notice 30 days in advance.

What documents do I require to have my car insured?
|
- Registration card or transfer letter or custom paper.
- Driving License of the owner / trade license for company cars.

What does my comprehensive policy cover?

1.1 Loss of or Damage to your vehicle
|

This is the primary section of your policy that provides cover for any accidental loss or damage to your vehicle.

1.2 Third Party Bodily injury
|
|
This cover provides for your legal liability in the event that you have to pay compensation for any bodily injury to or death of a third party following an accident.

1.3 Third Party Property Damage
|
|
This cover provides for your legal liability in the event that you have to pay compensation for damage to materials and property following an accident.

1.4 Medical Expenses (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
|
A limited cost of medical treatment incurred as a direct result of an accident when using the insured vehicle.

1.5 Personal Belongings (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
|
Cover for the value of loss or damage caused to your personal belongings whilst in the insured vehicle.

1.6 Natural Perils (Storm/Flood) (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
|
Your policy cover extends to include accidental loss of or damage to the Vehicle caused by natural perils such as storm, flood.
|
|
1.7 Off-road cover & Oman extension (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
Off-road cover: if your vehicle has off-road capability, your insurance policy can be extended whilst you are off-road.
Oman Extension: your policy can be extended to cover your vehicle while being driven in the Sultanate of Oman.

1.8 Agency repair
|
|
Accidental damage repairs of the insured vehicle at the manufacturers authorized dealers within the UAE.

1.9 Hire car (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
|
Hide Car:This cover provide a hire car for a maximum period of seven days( depends on the Ins Co) whilst your vehicle is being repaired following an accident.

1.10 24 hour Accident & Breakdown recovery (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
|
24 hour Accident/Breakdown recovery:This provides extensive breakdown and accident recovery 365 days a year, 7 days a week to your vehicle
|

1.11 Personal Accident cover for driver (If added)
|
|
This cover offers compensation to the Driver of the vehicle in the event of death or serious bodily injury sustained whilst using the vehicle.
|
|
1.12 Personal Accident cover for passengers (If added)
|
|
This cover offers compensation to the Passengers in the vehicle in the event of death or serious bodily injury sustained whilst using the vehicle.
|
|
1.13 GCC covers (if offered by the Insurance Co.)
|
|
Under this cover, the loss of or damage to your vehicle is extended to all GCC countries.

1.14 No Claims Discount Protection
|
